Ongoing
The 2009 calendar photo competition November is open for submission - click here - the theme is winter or miserable. Since there was only one photo submitted for October, there is no voting necessary. You can see all wining entries so far in the gallery.
I have also opened the topic for December, the theme is the obvious one, so if anyone wants to get in early, post here.

October 19th, Alec's house. Time for the second and last Mini clinic of 2008. After Justin had to cancel the planned work on the estate due to a failed MOT we were left with a service on mine, checks on the handbrake on poppa's Mini and the front subframe mounts on Jason's. Justin brought his saloon around to have the nipples greased and had a look at the amp with stretch, our resident stereo expert.
It was a very relaxed day, with stretch, Dave Hob and Eric turning up for a chat and Alec, Jason, Justin and myself working on the cars and poppa watching. We also had plenty of time to sit around the BBQ and chat.
The only negative aspect was Jason finding a rust hole in his sill, close to the front which needs fixing (read the forum, he's already started). And the main positive aspect was that we once again collected a bit of money for charity. A fiver per car seems a very fair deal and though we didn't have many cars, it all adds up in the end (every little helps!).
We got underway, following our support van, and made it without major problems to Toddington Services on the M1 for a quick pit stop. The weather wasn't brilliant, it had rained earlier but while we were there, it was actually dry. We then left the M1 at junction 14 to make our way towards Santa Pod. After the second roundabout I noticed that Debs put her hazards lights on but didn't stop. A bit further up the road and in my rear view mirror I just saw her pulling into a layby. Just after the next roundabout we turned around and headed back to where Debbie, Sylvia and Eric had pulled up. Debbie's car had the bonnet open and was smoking ... not what we were looking for.
Our regular meeting venue is The Coachman's Inn, High Street, Uxbridge, UB8 2DX.
We meet 1 pm onwards the first Sunday of every month for a pint and chat at the pub and the third Sunday of every month for a Pub Run.
